These are brand new pitman arms produced by Southwest Speed (SWS Part #107-175). They replace the OEM arms and work perfectly with all connecting components in the correct application. We've sold hundreds of these arms with no problems in quality or compatibility. They are commonly used in many different street cars, as well as many race cars.
The "Small GM Metric" Power Steering Box is commonly referred to as a 605 series Saginaw box. It began being used in 1978 and was used from that point forward.on about 1/2 of all GM cars. This box is distinct for its round, ring-retained housing cover, as opposed to the square housing cover that other GM Power boxes have. This box features a 1"-32 spline pitman arm shaft.
This Pitman Arm will work with the stock or OEM replacement Center Link & the Small GM Metric Power Steering Box on the following applications:1978-88 Chevy Chevelle, El Camino, Malibu, & Monte Carlo, including GMC Caballero & Sprint Trucks1978-81 Pontiac GTO, Lemans, Grand Lemans, Tempest, & T371978-87 Buick Century, Luxus, Regal, & Special (RWD)1978-88 Oldsmobile Cutlass, F85, Vista Cruiser, 4-4-2, & Calais (RWD)Make sure to identify which Power steering box you have.
